Sweet Potato Halwa

Sweet Potatoes are rich in fibre & Vitamin A, especially if you pick bright coloured potatoes. This dessert Sweet Potato Halwa recipe soothes the sweet craving of your kids ?

– 2 medium sized Sweet potato
– ¼ cup Palm Sugar/ Brown Sugar
– 4 tbsp Homemade Ghee
– A Pinch of Cardamom powder
– A Pinch of Saffron
– 2 tbsp Almond Milk / Coconut Milk or Cow Milk

Method:

1.Wash and pressure cook sweet potatoes with enough water for 2-3 whistles.

2.Peel and Mash the boiled sweet potatoes well with a fork and set aside. Soak saffron in milk and keep it ready.

3.Heat a pan with a tbsp of ghee and add mashed sweet potatoes to the same pan and fry them for two minutes in low medium flame.

4.Then add the required amount of sugar & powdered cardamom to it and mix well. Cook for some time, Add saffron soaked milk now.

5.Continue stirring and add the remaining ghee little by little.When the halwa forms a whole mass and doesn’t stick to the pan, switch off the flame.
