Foxtail Millet Dosa/Idli batter Now that you all are well aware of the many benefits that Foxtail Millets offer, do try to incorporate it into your diet regularly. To help you with Foxtail Millet recipe ideas, we present to you the Foxtail Millet Dosa/Idli batter from which we have made soft and healthy dosas. Ingredients:
– Foxtail millet- 1 cup
– Urad Dal – 1/4 cup
– Fenugreek seeds- 1 tsp
– Poha-1/2 cup optional
– Cold Pressed Oil
 
Method Of Preparation:
– Rinse foxtail millet, urad and fenugreek seeds. Soak the foxtail millet in one bowl and urad dal and fenugreek seeds in the other in enough water to cover them. Set aside for about 4 hours. Soak poha separately for 15 minutes.
– After 4 hours, drain the water and add all the soaked ingredients in a mixer
– Grind together to get a fine batter. You can add little water to help the process
– Transfer the batter into another bowl and let it ferment for 8 hours in a warm place
– Heat a tawa. When it becomes hot, pour a ladle of batter onto the tawa and spread in a circular motion. Drizzle some oil and cook the dosa covered for a few minutes. When done, carefully flip the dosa and cook on the other side too
– Foxtail Millet dosa is ready to be served with homemade chutney or sambhar
