Litle Millet Bisi Bele Bath

Little Millet Bisi Bele Bath – Swap the basmati rice for millets and try this one! We are sure you’ll will love it!
Ingredients:

-2 cups Little Millet
-1 cup mixed veggies of your choice
-Salt
-1 cup split pigeon peas (tur dal)
-Water
-1 clove -3-4 pepper corns
-½tsp turmeric
-1 cardamom
-½ tsp chilli powder
-Cold pressed oil

Method Of Preparation:

•Wash & soak  the millet for 3-4 hours.
•Cook the soaked millet in a vessel with 2 -3 cups of water for 15 minutes. Once it becomes thick, lower the flame & cover, cook for another 5 minutes.
•In a cooker, add mixed veggies of your choice, 1 cup water & salt. Mix everything well. Cook the veggies till they become soft
•Add washed and soaked split pigeon peas (tur dal), cooked millet, 2 cups of water and mix well. Cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
•Pound 3-4 pepper corns,1 clove,1 cardamom using a mortar & pestle. Add these ground spices to the millet-dal mixture.
•To the mixture, add turmeric, chilli powder and mix well.
•In a kadhai add oil. To this add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, few curry leaves and Kashmiri chilli.
•Let it splutter. Add this seasoning to the dal mixture. Mix well.
•In a blender, grind few pieces of dry coconut to a fine crumb-like consistency. Add this coconut to the mixture.
•Top it with 2 tbsp of grated/powdered jaggery. Mix everything together.
Serve with curd or raita.
