Makkai Veggie Roti

Makkai or Maize flour roti that can be made with your favorite vegetables in just 10 mins.

Maize flour or Makkai has the following nutrition benefits for kids:

  1. Rich in Iron, Vitamin B, Magnesium
  2. Rich in fiber and can help to ease constipation
  3. High-calorie content also helps in weight gain in kids.

Try this quick recipe for a healthy breakfast or snack for kids and serve it with their favorite chutney or curry

Ingredients

Maize flour/Makkai – 1 cup

Gram Flour – ¼ cup

Grated Carrot – ¼ cup

Chopped Capsicum -1/4th cup

Salt- 3/4th tsp

Pepper -1/4th tsp

Chilli Powder- 1/4th tsp

Turmeric Powder – 1/4th tsp

 

Method of preparation

-Take a mixing bowl.

-Add makkai flour & gram flour. Mix well

-Add all the spices & salt, veggies.

-Add water to mix and whisk everything together without any lumps

-The batter should be thin and slightly runny

-Pour the batter on a pre-heated cast iron & spread evenly

-Flip the roti. Let it cook well on both the sides

-Plate it & offer with homemade chutneys & dips
