Porridge for Babies with Jowar & Spinach

Jowar Spinach Porridge

Porridge is a healthy & tummy filling option for your little ones. Jowar or Sorghum is a millet with high iron & protein. Adding palak adds in a lot of fibre and iron too.

Ingredients:
2 Tbs Jowar/Sorghum Flour
1/2 Tsp Ghee (Recommend Organic A2 Ghee for Babies & Kid)
1/2 cup Palak/spinach (boiled and grinded)
A pinch of salt (or as per taste)
A pinch of Cardamom

Method:

– Take a bowl & soak Jowar flour in 30-50ml of water for 10 minutes.
– Now take Palak in a pan and boil with a little water and keep a side. After
5-7 minutes, once cooled, make this into a smooth puree.
– Now cook jowar mix, palak puree with a little water as per requirement.
– Let it boil for 5-7 minutes
– Add a pinch of cardamom powder and ghee at the end
– Mix well & feed.

Tips: Buy whole jowar of 1kg and then make into a flour. It can get spoilt or bitter if you keep the flour for more than 3-4 weeks. So make Jowar into flour just as much as its needed.

Don’t close the lid while boiling palak, this will retain the colour and the antioxidants. Don’t over cook it, cooking for 5-7 minutes is enough to make the puree
