How to Make Drumstick Leaves Dal?

Ingredients:
1. Yellow Split Moong Dal – Washed Soaked for 3 hours – 1 cups
2. Drumstick Leaves – 1 bunch (leaves cleaned from the stems)
3. Pepper & Turmeric
4. Jeera
5. Salt (Very little, since drumstick leaves has a lot of natural salt already)
6. Mustard
7. Cold pressed oil (any)

Method:
1. Cook the dal in a pressure cooker
2. Once dal is cooked, now add the washed & coarsely chopped drumstick leaves
3. Drumstick leaves hardly take 3-5 minutes to cook on a medium flame
4. In a small pan, temper oil with pepper, jeera, mustard seeds and turmeric. Once the spices start sputtering add it to the dal.

Important Notes:
1.Add the tadka in the end.
2. Tempering is very important to add many antioxidants, also removes any free radicals in the food, so ensure the oil does not smoke
3. Don’t over cook after the seasoning is added
4. Don’t cook the drumstick leaves. We don’t want to lose any nutrition 🙂
