Moong Dal Soup with Veggies for Babies

Hot soups for babies amazing for current rainy season. An excellent source of protein from moong that is also easy to digest for the babies. The added veggies give a lot of good nutrition and flavour too. Try our healthy moong dal soup for babies with the added goodness of veggies.

Age: 7 months and above. Please continue to use the spices in small amounts. Spices are like catalysts that are needed to aid good digestion.

Ingredients:

-2 table spoon Moong Dal
-A Pinch of asafoetida/hing
-¼ tsp Cumin seeds Powder / Jeera
-4 small pieces of bottle gourd
-4 small pieces of pumpkin
-1 small sized Carrot
-1 small size Tomato
-¼ tsp Ghee
-A pinch of black pepper powder
-A pinch of turmeric
-Water – 1.5 cups

Method:
1. Wash all the vegetables in the water. Then peel the skin off from bottle gourd, carrot with a peeler. Chop the veggies in small cubes, and also chop tomato and pumpkin (remove hard of pumpkin) and keep aside.

2. Wash the healthy moong dal twice, soak for 15 mins and keep it ready.

3. Cook dal with 1.5 cups of water in a pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles

4. Once cooked, add all veggies and cook for 10 mins on a medium flame

5. Add ghee, hing, salt (optional)

6. When cooked completely, blend or hand mash all veggies to make a smooth paste. Ta da. Yoy healthy moong dal soup is ready to be served!

Tip: Before serving you can sprinkle the cumin seeds powder and black pepper for extra flavour.
