For parents looking for healthy desserts recipes for children that has no maida & sugar, this sugar-free badam jaggery halwa recipe is a must try! It is made fully of almonds, milk & jaggery and uses no flour in the recipe.
Age: You can feed this to kids who are above 12 months of age. In case you want to feed this to younger kids, then you can use Early Foods dates powder to naturally sweeten the desserts.
Ingredients
1.Almonds -1/2 cup
2.Jaggery Powder – ¼ cup
3.Milk -1/2 cup
4.Ghee – 3 tbsp
5.Cardamom powder – 1/4th tsp
6.Pinch of saffron
Method of preparation
1.Soak almonds in hot water for 20 mins
2.After 2O mins, it should peel off easily
3.Add peeled almonds in the grinder and blend to powder
4.Add milk to this mixture
5.Grind the almond coarsely
6.Heat a pan on medium flame
7.Add ghee to the pan
8.Add the almond paste
9.Stir well until the ghee is totally absorbed into the halwa
10.Add saffron & cardamom powder. Mix in jaggery powder
11.Stir until the halwa thickens. It takes a few minutes
Sugar-free Badam Jaggery Halwa is ready to be served
