Kodo Millet Kheer – Let’s start this week on a sweet note, shall we?!

Next up in our #MOW -Millet Of the Week series, is a dessert that is sure to leave your taste buds happy & content! Try this simple yet highly nutritious Kodo Millet Kheer recipe, and do not forget to tag us!

Ingredients:
– 3/4th cup kodo millet
– 250 ml milk
– 3/4th cup powdered jaggery
– 4-5 strands of saffron
– 5-10 cashew, almonds and pista
– ½ tsp cardamom powder
– 2 tbps ghee

Method Of Preparation:
1. Soak Kodo millet for about 4 hours in water
2. In a pressure cooker, add water and let it come to a boil
3. As soon as the water boils, add the soaked kodo millet and let it cook for 4-5
whistles
4. In a pan take some water & add powdered jaggery. Heat it till the jaggery melts.
Strain and keep the jaggery syrup aside
5. Once the pressure releases naturally, open the cooker and add jaggery syrup, milk, saffron strands, cardamom powder. Give it a good mix
6. Let the kheer cook for 3-4 minutes
7. Heat ghee in a pan & add all dry fruits and roast until golden colour
8. Add the roasted dry fruits to the cooked kheer

Serve this yummy Kodo Millet Kheer warm or cold!
