Millet Rice is one of the easiest recipes to make. You can have it with Dal, Curd, Sambhar or any curry just like white rice.
Age: 6+ months babies can have very soft mashed rice with some sprouted plain dal.
Important Points:
1. Its very important to soak the millet for at least 4 hours in water and then cook it.
2. Wash the grains 1-2 times in water, not more. Millets are rich in water soluble vitamins and more washing can lead to loss of nutrition.
3. Cook in the same soaked water. You can use 1 cup millet: 3 cups rice to make soft rice specially suited for babies.
4. Use the following millets for rice – Foxtail, Kodo, Little, Barnyard, Browntop, Proso Millet etc.
