Millet Palak Khichdi Recipe for Kids
Millet Recipe in 20 minutes. Use any millet you like.
Ingredients:
1. Any millet 1/2 cup
2. Moong Dal 1/2 cup
3. Palak – 1 cup
4. Green Peas (or any vegetables) – 1/2 cup
5. Tempering (Mustard, Jeera, Green Chilli, Methi Seeds)
6. Salt (As required)
7. Turmeric – 1/2 Tsp
Method:
1. Soak millet & moong dal in water for 4 hours.
2. Cook this in the pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles
3. While its being cooked, take another pan to cook the palak
4. We dont want to add palak, seasoning & tomatoes in the pressure cooker, because it uses too much heat and destroys most of the nutrients in the vegetables & oil
5. Take a broad vessel, add a cold pressed oil and temper with spice for 2 minutes. Ensure the oil does not smoke.
6. Add tomatoes, palak and peas Cook for 5 minutes.
7. Add the cooked millet/dal and mix well with spices, salt and turmeric. Serve warm
